On September 5, 2026, the Valdosta Fire Department will hold its 6th Annual 9/11 Memorial Run in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This event aims to honor those who lost their lives, as well as the brave first responders who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The race will feature a patriotic theme, and we encourage community members to show their support by lining the racecourse with decorated signs and/or costumes!
- 7:45 AM: Remarks by our City and County officials, followed by the Moody AFB Honor Guard.
- 8:00 AM: Race begins at the intersection of N Valley and N Patterson, just down the block from previous years' starts and finishes in Downtown Valdosta. The course is a fast out-and-back running past Valdosta State University.
- 9:00 AM: Awards and 9/11 Ceremonies will commence on the front courthouse lawn, located at 100 E. Central Ave., Valdosta, GA.

- Pre-Race Packet Pickup: Friday, September 4, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the City Annex, 300 N Lee St Valdosta, GA.
- Race Day Packet Pickup: Begins at 6:30 AM on September 5, 2026.
USATF Certification: We are pleased to announce that the 9/11 Memorial 5K is now officially USATF-certified! This certification means that your run may qualify you for major events with qualifying standards, such as the Peachtree Road Race and prestigious marathons like New York and Boston. USATF Certificate: GA24032WC.
100% of the race proceeds will be donated to Valor Service Dogs, Inc.
